Launched in Hackney Wick in 2013, Print is Power are various projects based around the medium of Print. The heart of the project is the community and inclusiveness, and aims to give various individuals a voice to communicate and raise issues for debate.  The workshops aim to give participants a chance to take some time out, contemplate, and to create  “tongue & cheek” slogans, which are then transformed into paper cut stencils that are usually screen printed by attendees.

“Voice your opinions- Print your passions”

Sisters In Print is a project of fierce national and international women artists who share a love of print and art-making. They group unapologetically assembles when called upon to do any combination of leading workshops, live printing, and to express their revolutionary thoughts and womanhood together.

Aida Wilde invited the individuals to participate in their first project in 2016 which was to be exhibited in the now seminal show Save YourSelves in Hackney Wick. The women were paired in collaboration with a partner that they may or may not have known previously. The prints produced for the show were are all printed in Aida’s studio in the heart of Hackney Wick.

On display in the project space in the TOAF will be a range of work the collective have produced collaboratively and individually, past placards & posters from print campaigns, as well as material sources that have inspired and shaped the sisters ideas and inner beings.

Stop by for some printing, sharing & dialogue.
